The Sangestan Villa project is located on a 756 square meter piece of land. This land is one of four pieces owned by a single family, so there are no dividing walls between the plots, and the project is completely open all around. The width of the land, situated among three other plots, is 18 meters, and its length is 42 meters. It has a very slight negative slope from south to north, and there is a stream at the bottom of the land. The entrance to the site is from the south. The initial volume placement was chosen to firstly receive adequate light and secondly provide space for landscaping in front of the building, as well as having a secluded courtyard behind the building. In the next step, the volume was raised from the ground level to preserve a garden-like feel and establish a connection between the two courtyards. The client’s main requests included integrating the project with the surrounding gardens, having open spaces with expansive terraces and windows, and incorporating an atrium in the interior spaces. The client also wanted a living room, reception area, and kitchen on the first floor, two bedrooms on the second floor, and an independent suite on the roof level. On the first floor, spaces were separated from each other due to stairs and level differences. On the second floor, bedrooms were placed next to each other, creating a visual connection between the floors. A rooftop garden with a suite was designed on the roof level, with enclosed, semi-open, and open spaces placed together by covering some parts of the roof.
